Kazakhstan Joins the Opening of the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games

The opening ceremony took place at the historic Arena di Verona, an ancient Roman amphitheater built in the first century AD that can hold about 12,000 spectators, Orda.kz reports.
Kazakhstan’s flag at the opening ceremony was carried by para athlete Nurlan Alimov. The Milan Cortina Games are his first Paralympic appearance.

More than 600 athletes from 56 countries are competing at the Games.
Team Kazakhstan will compete in two disciplines: para biathlon and para cross-country skiing.
Kazakhstan is represented by Yerbol Khamitov, Alexander Gerlitz, Sergey Usoltsev, Yuri Berezin, Nurlan Alimov, Anna Gracheva and Vladislav Kobal.
The Milan Cortina d’Ampezzo Games will run for 10 days and close on March 15.
