The main reasons are the loss of these birds’ natural habitat due to aggressive development and the destruction of green spaces, ornithologist and scientific director of the Kazakhstan Association for Biodiversity Conservation Sergey Sklyarenko said at the Regional Communications Service site in Almaty, Orda.kz reports.
For a full life, sparrows and swallows need dense trees and shrubs, as well as open areas with grasses where they can collect seeds and catch insects. There are fewer and fewer such places in Almaty every year, the expert said on International Bird Day.

According to him, birds should be fed in winter, especially tits. In summer, they can use drinkers and artificial nests placed in yards or on balconies and roofs. All this will help preserve the remains of wildlife in the metropolis and make life more interesting and pleasant for both people and birds.
