Defense Ministry Explains Drone Crash In Zhambyl Region

A military drone crashed in the Zhambyl region, Orda.kz reports. The Defense Ministry said no one was injured and that a commission had been sent to the site.
On June 2, an air defense forces drone crashed in the Talas district during a scheduled training flight. According to preliminary data from the ministry, the crash was caused by a technical malfunction. There were no casualties or damage on the ground.
There is no threat to the population or infrastructure facilities. A special commission has been sent to the site. Specialists are examining the crash area and establishing the exact causes,the Defense Ministry said.
Earlier, Orda.kz reported that residents of the West Kazakhstan region had seen unidentified drones near the Syrym checkpoint on the border with Russia for two nights in a row. The drones were flying from the Samara region. The Defense Ministry later said no airspace violations had been recorded.
