Which Kazakh Product Is Finding New Buyers Abroad?

Kazakh cheese products are gaining popularity abroad, with exports reaching new markets, Orda.kz reports, citing the Bureau of National Statistics.
Kazakh producers exported about 900 tons of cheese products between January and May 2026.
Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia remained the main buyers. Shipments to Uzbekistan and Mongolia increased, while Kazakhstan also began exporting the products to Azerbaijan and South Korea.
Domestic production reached 25,700 tons during the first five months of the year, up 28% from the same period in 2025.
As local production increased, imports fell by 9.2%.
Demand within Kazakhstan also grew. Consumers bought 41,400 tons of cheese products between January and May, an increase of 11.2% year on year.
As of June, cottage cheese cost an average of 2,457 tenge per kilogram. The lowest average price was recorded in Petropavlovsk at 1,661 tenge, while the highest was in Zhezkazgan at about 3,060 tenge.
