Türkiye has launched its largest-ever naval expansion, with 31 warships now under simultaneous construction in Turkish shipyards, Orda reports, citing The Middle East Eye.
The fleet, estimated to cost over $8 billion, includes an aircraft carrier and destroyer.
This massive naval buildup accelerates a long-term strategy under President Erdoğan, who since 2002 has pushed to develop Türkiye's domestic defense industry to counter military embargoes linked to Türkiye's operations against Kurdish armed groups.
