Kazakhstan is bracing for a spell of unstable and potentially dangerous weather this week, Orda.kz reports.
According to Kazhydromet, July 4–5 will bring heavy rains, thunderstorms, and possible hail to the northwest, north, and east of the country.
Meanwhile, the south and southeast will remain mostly dry but face strong winds and dust storms.
Daytime air temperatures across the country will reach 35°C, with extreme heat of up to 40–42°C expected in the center and east. In the southern and southeastern regions, temperatures are forecast to reach 43–47°C in some areas,
the agency warned.
In the northern regions, temperatures are set to drop sharply on July 5 — down to 18–25°C during the day. The abrupt change is attributed to an approaching cyclone and active atmospheric fronts.
On July 2, storm warnings were issued in 16 regions. Some areas experienced hail, thunderstorms, and squalls, while parts of the south recorded heat as high as 39°C.
