Claims have circulated that all Russian-language schools in Azerbaijan are set to be closed, according to notifications reportedly sent to parents, Orda.kz reports, citing The Caucasian Knot.

The notices supposedly outline a gradual transition: over the next three years, all instruction will shift entirely to Azerbaijani. Russian-language programs will supposedly be discontinued.

Authorities have not yet issued an official public statement on the closures.

The reports have also surfaced amid tensions between Baku and Moscow.

The initial report is said to have come from Oxu.Az.
