North Kazakhstan to Use 45 Billion Tenge from Returned Assets for Water Projects

More than 45 billion tenge from assets recovered by the state will be used to address drinking water issues in the North Kazakhstan region, Orda.kz reports, citing the Cabinet of Ministers.
The funds, drawn from a special government fund, will be allocated to 48 water infrastructure projects across the region. These include the reconstruction of the Sokolovsky, Bulaevsky, and Presnovsky pipelines, as well as the construction of new pipelines and branches in the Aiyrtau and Shal Aqyn districts, which are connected to the Kokshetau group water system.
After all work is completed in the villages of the North Kazakhstan region, 100% coverage of the population with high-quality drinking water will be ensured,the government stated.
Earlier, the Cabinet released a list of initiatives financed through assets confiscated from oligarchs, amounting to a total of 318 billion tenge.
