The White House is pressuring Moscow and Kyiv to reach a peace agreement no later than August 8, Orda.kz reports.
The statement came from John Kelley, the Deputy Acting U.S. Representative to the United Nations, during a UN Security Council session on Ukraine.
It’s time to make a deal. President Trump has made it clear that this must be done by August 8. The United States is ready to take further steps to ensure peace,
he said.
Just a few days earlier, during a visit to Scotland, the U.S. president once again expressed dissatisfaction with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He also shortened the timeline he had previously given for reaching a ceasefire agreement — now demanding results within 10 to 12 days.
Initially, the deadline had been set at 50 days.
