Mazhilis deputy Bakytzhan Bazarbek has proposed extending the moratorium on utility tariff increases, Orda.kz reports.
The issue has been raised again against the backdrop of already high prices and the growing burden on the population. Bazarbek said the tariff situation remains one of the most troubling issues for citizens and continues to cause serious concern.
Tariffs have already risen sharply, and people can no longer afford them. The income level of the population does not correspond to how fast tariffs are growing.he said.
According to the deputy, when making such decisions, the authorities should proceed not only from economic calculations, but also from the real ability of citizens to pay for services.
He noted that no final decision has yet been made on extending the moratorium, but made clear that this is his position as a deputy.
I believe that the moratorium on tariff increases should be extended. And in the near future, the issue of raising tariffs should not be raised at all. Bazarbek added.
