President Toqayev has carried out a purge of the judicial system. Several dismissals were connected in one way or another with loss of trust or ethical violations. Orda.kz examined who was removed and who was appointed.
The head of state signed a decree appointing and dismissing chairpersons and judges of courts at all levels. The document covers almost every region of the country.
More than 20 judges and court chairpersons have resigned or been dismissed, and around 60 new ones have been appointed.
Some left their positions for ordinary reasons — retirement, expiration of term, or personal choice.
But two court chairpersons were dismissed following convictions for corruption and fraud.
Nurlan Shaimerdenov, chair of the Aksu District Court in Jetisu Region, was convicted of accepting a bribe.
Bauyrzhan Shaidullin, head of the Aqtau City Court, is also serving a sentence — for fraud and corruption.
Another example: Galym Kaldarov, chair of the Administrative Offenses Court in Shymkent. He was removed by a decision of the Judicial Jury for a disciplinary violation.
Many of those appointed are women.
Some were transferred from district to city courts or vice versa. New chairpersons were appointed in Almaty, as well as in the Aqmola, Aqtobe, Atyrau, West Kazakhstan, Qostanay, North Kazakhstan, Turkistan, and East Kazakhstan regions.
The full list of appointees is in the decree.
