On December 3, Aqorda reported that Qasym-Jomart Toqayev held a meeting “on issues of military discipline and law and order in the army.”
Prosecutor General Berik Asylov, Interior Minister Yerzhan Sadenov, and Defense Minister Dauren Kosanov — the same minister recently in the spotlight — presented their reports.
The press service gave only a brief summary, stating that officials delivered updates, described the measures being taken, and reported on educational efforts.
They discussed preventing violations within the armed forces. Toqayev again stressed that the deaths of conscripts and injuries among service members remain problems that must be addressed.
However, there is still no information about concrete results following Toqayev’s earlier directive.
As a reminder, after learning how tense the situation had become amid repeated protests by soldiers’ mothers, the president instructed Asylov to review the cases of conscripts who had died or been injured.
He gave a 12-day deadline to resolve the issue.
