Kazakh President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev has called the declaration signed in Washington between Azerbaijan and Armenia a historic milestone, Orda.kz reports.
Toqayev stressed that the signing was made possible through the mediation of U.S. President Donald Trump, who persuaded both countries’ leaders to show political will and strategic vision.
He added that Kazakhstan also contributed to the agreement by offering Almaty as a venue for foreign ministers to discuss key parameters of the peace deal.
As previously reported, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a declaration on peaceful relations between the two countries in Washington under Trump’s mediation.
