Qasym-Jomart Toqayev held a phone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Orda.kz reports.
The President said that the signing of this historic document was made possible in part thanks to Pashinyan’s personal qualities — political will and strategic vision of his country’s national interests.
“The declaration opens the way to large-scale international cooperation in the South Caucasus and more intensive economic and investment interaction between Kazakhstan and Armenia,” the statement said.
Toqayev noted that preparations have begun in Astana for Pashinyan’s official visit, planned for the end of this year. He added that Kazakhstan remains ready to facilitate political dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan by providing a platform for negotiations.
In response, Pashinyan thanked Toqayev for his congratulations and support, informed him about certain aspects of the negotiation process, and emphasized the significant mediating role of U.S. President Donald Trump.
The Prime Minister also praised Kazakhstan’s efforts to reconcile the parties and confirmed his readiness to visit Astana to sign new cooperation agreements.
Yesterday, Toqayev held a phone conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
