Three Senior Officers Dismissed After Woman’s Death at Qaraganda Police Station
Three senior police officials have been dismissed following the death of a 23-year-old woman inside a police station, Orda.kz reports, citing Patriot.
According to the Qaraganda Region Police Department, the head of the Mikhailovsky police department, his deputy for service, and the deputy overseeing district inspectors were removed from their positions by a decision of the department’s disciplinary commission.
Several other senior officers within the Qaraganda police department received official reprimands.
Incident Details
The case occurred on the night of September 29. According to preliminary information, a major invited a woman he knew to the police station. He had reportedly brought her there during previous night shifts as well.
On the morning of September 30, a senior district police officer discovered the woman dead on a couch and found the inspector himself unconscious at his desk.
Doctors managed to save the officer, who remains hospitalized.
The 36-year-old inspector had previously worked as an investigator in the Temirtau police department, but had been demoted to the position of district police officer due to disciplinary violations.
