Tajikistan’s Foreign Ministry has reported that three Chinese nationals were killed in an armed assault on the Tajik-Afghan border, Orda.kz reports, citing the Agency's website.
According to the official statement, the attack occurred overnight on November 26, 2025, in the responsibility zone of the Yol Border Detachment in Shamsiddin Shohin district, Khatlon region.
Gunfire and an unmanned aerial vehicle carrying grenades were used in the assault, targeting the staff of Shokhin SM LLC.
Despite Tajikistan’s consistent efforts to ensure security and foster mutually beneficial cooperation in border areas with Afghanistan, criminal groups operating inside the neighboring country continue to commit acts aimed at destabilizing the situation along the frontier,
the ministry stated.
Tajikistan expressed deep concern and sharply condemned the attack, urging the de facto authorities in Afghanistan to take effective measures to ensure stability and security along the shared border.
The attack comes following a recent visit by Tajik officials to Kabul, where security was among the topics discussed.
Other similar border incidents have occurred in the past, causing the territory to be an area of concern.
