Russian representatives will arrive in Istanbul on May 15 and wait for the Ukrainian side for negotiations, Orda.kz reports, citing Russian media and presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.
Peskov did not disclose who would be a part of the Russian delegation.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he would travel to Turkey on May 15 for a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He has also expressed readiness to talk with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Meanwhile, Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, previously stated that Volodymyr Zelenskyy was ready to meet at the Istanbul talks with Vladimir Putin only.
Other parties are also preparing for the talks. According to Western outlets, U.S. President Donald Trump will send a delegation to Türkiye, headed by the United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio. Special envoys Keith Kellogg and Steve Witkoff are also expected to arrive in Istanbul.
As previously reported, President Vladimir Putin proposed direct negotiations with Kyiv to take place on May 15 in Istanbul.
