Armenia considers normalization with Türkiye and the settlement of relations with Azerbaijan to be two different processes, said Ruben Rubinyan, deputy speaker of parliament and Yerevan’s special envoy on the Armenian-Turkish dialogue, Orda.kz reports, citing NewsArmenia.
However, this does not mean that they do not influence each other. Obviously, all these countries are in the same region and can influence each other,Rubinyan noted in an interview with OTA. He added that progress with Türkiye could also have a positive effect on the Armenia–Azerbaijan track.
At the same time, Rubinyan expressed hope that a peace agreement with Baku could be signed this year.
I hope that Armenia and Azerbaijan will sign a peace treaty not in the first half of 2026, but at the end of 2025, or in September 2025,
he said, stressing that Armenia’s position is already clear.
Incidentally, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan received Serdar Kılıç, Türkiye’s special representative for the normalization process of Armenian-Turkish relations, on September 12.
