Alexander Kolesnichenko, a resident of the village of Arykbalyk in the North Kazakhstan region, discovered what is believed to be a mammoth tooth about five kilometers from the village, Orda.kz reports, citing Aiyrtau Zori.
The find will likely be examined by specialists from the Botai Museum-Reserve, who are expected to determine the age and origin of the remains.
Similar discoveries have been made in Kazakhstan in recent months.
In September, a fisherman found a large mammoth bone in the north of the country, and in October, additional mammoth remains were uncovered in the Aqmola region.
