Qyzylorda School Girl: Nine More Convicted
The Juvenile Court of the Kyzylorda region considered a criminal case concerning the case of a 16-year-old girl from Qyzylorda who was held in sexual exploitation, Orda reports.
Several sentences have already been handed down.
There were nine people in the dock; four were minors.
The hearing was held behind closed doors. The investigation presented evidence: video recordings, WhatsApp correspondence, bank statements, expert examination data, and the victim's testimony. The court found the accused guilty.
Some of them had their sentences mitigated due to their age and remorse. The court found no aggravating circumstances. Therefore, their prison terms were reduced.
The defendants in the high-profile case received different prison sentences:
- The two were given four years and eight months (the prosecutor requested four years)
- Three of them — seven years and six months (the prosecutor requested eight years)
- One minor — four years and eight months (the prosecutor requested four years and six months)
- The three minors — six years and eight months (the prosecutor requested the same amount)
The verdict has not yet entered into force.
