A new terminal capable of processing up to one million tons of grain per year has opened in the Mangystau region, Orda.kz reports, citing the Ministry of Transport.
The private company Kaspi Grain Way built it in the Quryq port. The complex is equipped with 18 silos, which allow for the simultaneous storage of up to 28 thousand tons of grain crops. The conveyor capacity is 300 tons per hour.
Today, the grain terminal stores about 14 thousand tons of barley. On November 9, 2024, the first cargo batch of 3,500 tons of barley was shipped from this terminal using berth No. 4 of the Quryq port, comments the Ministry of Transport.
The terminal will be the starting point for exporting Kazakhstan's grain to Iran and the countries of the Caucasus region. The project is implemented within the framework of the comprehensive plan for developing Kazakhstan's maritime infrastructure for 2024-2028.
Earlier, we wrote that this year's harvest level is a third higher than last year. Despite the 26.5 million tons of grain collected, farmers are experiencing issues.
