Qaraganda Experiences Heating Issues
Districts in Qaraganda have lost heat supply due to a utility malfunction, Orda.kz's correspondent reports.
The situation affects residents in Vostok-5, Golubye Prudy, and Yugo-Vostok microdistricts.
Teplotransit Qaraganda, the local energy provider, says repairs are underway.
Specialists have identified the damaged section. Reinforced installation teams have been sent to the site. Measures are being taken to quickly remedy the situation. To ensure reliable heat supply, consumers have been transferred to the I-stage supply pipeline. During the transfer period, a temporary reduction in heat supply parameters is possible, the company's press service commented.
Residents, however, express growing frustration, saying this is the second incident in a week.
On frosty days, the heating is turned off. This has become the norm. The utility company's call center does not answer. You raise tariffs, but do not provide heat. In the Tomiris residential complex, it is not just cold, there is not even electricity or water, said one resident.
People are now calling for heating bill adjustments.
This incident follows a recent accident at Petropavlovsk Thermal Power Plant No. 2, where Sevkazenergo reported damage to water supply equipment.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy has proposed changes to electricity pricing, releasing a draft order on January 9, 2025, suggesting "adjustments" to electricity tariffs for most energy producers.
