Petropavlovsk CHPP-2 Malfunction: No Major Incident - Sevkazenergo

In Petropavlovsk, the equipment supplying water to residents' homes was damaged at the local plant in the morning, Orda.kz correspondent reports.
Sevkazenergo employees are currently trying to restore the damaged section.
On January 15 at 6:32 a.m. at Petropavlovsk CHPP-2, the feedwater system was damaged in the deaerator area. The automatic system was activated and turned off the station's main equipment. Specialists are currently working on restoring the system. All work is planned to be completed by 5 p.m., the press office of Sevkazenergo JSC reported.
The company does not rule out that the hot water in the city residents' homes may "cool down slightly."
A few years ago, a pipe collapsed at this very CHPP, and an employee died.
A new chimney was constructed for two billion tenge recently, but it is not operational yet.
Other equipment was also repaired, and the turbines were modernized.
Petropavlovsk CHPP-2 is part of Sevkazenergo, a key facility that provides electricity and heating to the city and surrounding areas.
Sevkazenergo shares belong to the CAEPCO JSC, controlled by Sergey Kan and Alexander Klebanov.
