Kirill Dmitriev, special representative of Russian President Vladimir Putin and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), has arrived in the United States for negotiations, Orda.kz reports, citing CNN and RIA Novosti.
The visit comes just days after Washington imposed sanctions on Russia’s largest oil companies, Rosneft and Lukoil.
According to CNN sources, Dmitriev is expected to meet with officials from the Trump administration “to continue discussions on U.S.– Russia relations.”
A day earlier, Vladimir Putin said that the new American sanctions would not affect Russia’s “economic well-being,” calling them another attempt to pressure Moscow, according to ASTRA.
