Putin and Mirziyoyev Held Phone Call about Situation Around Igor Kirillov's Assassination

The phone conversation was the initiative of the Uzbek side, Orda reports, citing the Kremlin.
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his condolences over General Igor Kirillov's and his assistant Ilya Polikarpov's death.
Mirziyoyev reportedly condemned the attack as a "despicable terrorist act" and reaffirmed intentions to continue cooperation between the special services of the two countries in countering terrorism.
Mirziyoyev also expressed readiness to continue developing the multifaceted Russian-Uzbek relations.
Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov and his assistant Ilya Polikarpov were killed on the morning of December 17 in Moscow.
On December 18, Russian law enforcement claimed to have detained the suspect, a citizen of Uzbekistan, Akhmadjon Kurbonov.
A court recently brought forth charges connected to the assassination.
