Man Accused of Assassinating General Kirillov Sent to Pre-trial Detention

Akhmadzhon Kurbonov, a native of Uzbekistan, has been taken into custody in Moscow, Orda.kz reports, citing the Basmanny District Court of Moscow.
He faces the following charges: a terrorist act, as well as illegal trafficking, storage, and manufacture of an explosive device.
As reported by the official Telegram channel of the Moscow City courts of general jurisdiction, Akhmadzhon Kurbonov was sent to a pre-trial detention center for one month and 30 days.
Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, the head of the radiation, chemical, and biological defense troops, and his assistant were killed by an explosion on Ryazansky Prospekt in Moscow on December 17.
The Investigative Committee reported that the explosive device was planted in a scooter parked next to the entrance of a residential building.
Ukrainian media clarified that the explosion was an operation by their country's special services.
