Police Detain Cattle Theft Gangs in Almaty Region

Police in the Karasai and Uygur districts of the Almaty region have detained two gangs suspected of stealing livestock, Orda.kz reports, citing the Interior Ministry.
According to investigators, the suspects used a well-established scheme: they targeted areas where cattle were grazing freely, drove the animals toward roads, and loaded them into waiting trucks.
The livestock was then taken to neighboring districts and sold.
The involvement of the detainees in the theft of 69 head of small livestock worth more than 7 million tenge, as well as 43 head of cattle worth about 20 million tenge, has been established. the ministry said.
All suspects have been arrested.
