No Municipal Use Planned for Massimov’s Confiscated Mansion

Astana authorities have opted out of taking the mansion that once belonged to former National Security Committee head and ex-Prime Minister Karim Massimov, Orda.kz reports.
This was confirmed by the city’s Department of Assets and Public Procurement in an official response.
Several months earlier, the Capital Asset Management Office announced that the building, located in the Karaotkel microdistrict, had been seized for “social needs.” The Akimat had submitted a formal request to have the property transferred to the city to be used for public purposes.
However, that plan appears to have been shelved.
The Astana Department of Assets and Public Procurement reports that there are currently no plans to accept the above-mentioned building into municipal ownership.
The final decision regarding the future of the mansion remains pending.
