Astana Akimat Requests Transfer of Mansion Linked to Convicted Karim Massimov

The house of convicted former National Security Committee chairman Karim Massimov in Astana has been transferred to meet Astana's social needs, Orda.kz reports.
The Company for the Management of Returned Assets (CMRA) confirmed the transfer.
An official request was received from the Akimat of Astana to transfer the said real estate for use in order to meet the social needs of the city. Given the social significance of the request and the norms of legislation, the object was removed from the electronic trading plan. Further use will be determined in accordance with the established procedure, taking into account the interests of the local executive body,
the statement reads.
The property in question is a mansion located in the Qaraotkel microdistrict of the Nura district. It had previously been put up for sale several times, with two failed attempts to sell it for 1.8 billion tenge.
