No Criminal Cases Against Baibek or His Father, Financial Monitoring Agency Confirms

There are no criminal cases pending against the father of former Almaty akim Bauyrzhan Baibek, according to the Agency for Financial Monitoring of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Orda.kz reports.
His name had earlier surfaced in connection with the organized crime group led by Yeldos Kospayev.
This was stated by Deputy Chair of the Financial Monitoring Agency Zhenis Yelesemov, speaking on the sidelines of the Majilis.
We have no registered criminal cases against Baibek. Neither the father nor the son. As for Kospayev, a verdict was issued. There is a number of properties that were confiscated. There is also a separate criminal case, within the framework of which it may still be necessary to give a legal assessment to some persons,
he said.
These individuals may include those involved in construction projects, those who assisted the organized crime group, concealed its assets, and others.
