According to an Orda.kz source, this will not be the last trial involving people linked to Arman Dzhumageldiev.
A day earlier, Almaty’s SI-18 court delivered its verdict in the January events case. Almost nothing was publicly known, as the trial was held behind closed doors.
The Telegram channel Elmedia was the first to report the verdict. According to the channel, the case involved 29 individuals allegedly connected to Dikiy Arman. They were accused of participating in an organized crime group, looting, and organizing mass riots.
The court handed down sentences ranging from one to 18 years in prison.
An Orda.kz source confirmed this information. The ruling was issued on November 19. The defendants were not tried solely for their ties to Dzhumageldiev; they faced the same indictment as those convicted in January 2025.
The source also said this will not be the final trial. Preparations are underway for another case, involving different defendants who are likewise linked to unrest during the January Events.
The verdict in the case of Dikiy Arman was announced on January 27. Dzhumageldiev received a 20-year sentence, while others were given terms ranging from one year to 15.5 years.
The appeal began on October 14, and this trial is also closed.
