New Casino Planned to Open in Almaty Region in 2027

A new casino may open in Almaty region in 2027, while Kazakhstan is still looking for investors for most other planned gambling facilities, Orda.kz reports.
Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol Myrzabosynov said the authorities are now choosing sites for casinos together with akimats and holding talks with potential investors.
The work has advanced furthest in Almaty region. According to the minister, there is already infrastructure near the Akbulak ski resort.
For the construction of casinos, we are now determining sites and zones together with local executive bodies and working with investors. So far, there is an understanding on Almaty region: certain infrastructure has been built in Akbulak,Myrzabosynov said.
He said casinos in Almaty region are expected to open in 2027.
Another gambling facility may open in Mangistau region after the last hotel there is completed. Its launch is also expected in 2027.
In other regions, the authorities are still looking for investors and possible locations. Myrzabosynov did not name the amount of investment needed or the companies that could build the facilities.
He also said there are no final investors yet.
The expected budget revenues have not been calculated either. According to the minister, the figures will be presented after the necessary calculations are completed.
