NeMolchi has announced that its team is exhausted and taking an indefinite break, Orda.kz reports.
The organization says several factors led to this decision. The hotline has been overwhelmed with calls, and one of the operators was recently injured. The team cannot even cover the cost of her medical examination.
In addition, the accounts and bank cards used to receive donations have been blocked.
We are being asked to provide immediate assistance, but there is very little support available – and we understand everything,
the foundation said.
Despite the pause, work on more than 30 ongoing cases will continue, but the hotline itself is temporarily suspended.
The foundation is asking supporters to use Boosty or Patreon, noting that these are now its only functioning donation platforms. NeMolchi provides psychological and legal assistance to victims of violence.
Its founder, Dina Smailova (Tansari), and her husband, Almat Mukhamedzhanov, are currently in Montenegro, where they have been granted political refugee status.
