The human rights activist and founder of the NeMolchi foundation announced the news on her Telegram channel.
As previously reported, Dina Smailova (Tansari) and her husband, Almat Mukhamedzhanov, were granted international protection from extradition, receiving political refugee status.
Montenegro reached its decision after nearly two years of legal proceedings. Tansari recently stated that the country’s Supreme Court had ultimately refused to extradite her to Kazakhstan.
Today, September 12, 2025, the decision came into force after review by the appellate division of the Supreme Court of Montenegro, the human rights activist wrote.
On her Facebook page, she added that Kazakhstan is a country where citizens are tortured and subjected to cruel treatment, and where people are persecuted for their opinions.
