In Kazakhstan, the eGov mobile service launched and soon closed a survey on the country's transition to a single time zone. Although the time zone was changed in March, the authorities decided to do this eight months later, Orda.kz reports.
The Head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry, Zhaslan Madiyev, says it does not matter how long the survey was posted on the website (three days), as the number of participants is more important.
This was a survey from the Ministry of Higher Education and Science, it was an order from them. In general, the Ministry of Science sent a request for this survey as part of a comprehensive study. They wanted to find out, among other things, the issues of perception of time zone changes, how it affects the daily routine. They noted that there were 200 thousand participants...upon reaching 200 thousand participants, they were ready to further analyze the results of the surveys. So, upon reaching the number of respondents, the survey was finished, Madiyev said at a government briefing.
He says 200 thousand votes will make up a good representative sample.
The Minister also added that 4.5 million Kazakhstanis are registered in the eGov mobile service.
The survey on the impact of the time change appeared on Egov on November 21, coinciding with the anniversary of Majilis deputy Yerkin Abil's proposal to introduce the single time zone.
