A new survey for Kazakhstanis has appeared in the Egov Mobile application - “Chronometrics: a study of time distribution,” Orda.kz reports.
It presents five questions regarding the country's transition to a single time zone:
- For what do you most often lack time for during the day?
- What part of your day do you consider the most productive?
- How do you feel about the idea of cafes and fitness centers opening earlier in our city? Would it make your day more convenient?
- What do you think should be done with the time that is set?
- Which time zone is optimal for you personally?

The Ministry of Digital Development and Aerospace Industry does not know whose survey this is or its goals. But they promised to find out.
Exactly one year ago, on November 22, Majilis deputy Yerkin Abil declared the need for a single time zone.
A month later, the Ministry of Trade issued a draft resolution on Kazakhstan's transition to a single time. Despite public backlash, the government changed the time zone.
Meanwhile, on November 19, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov supported the transition, stating that it geographically covers most of the country's territory. The head of the Cabinet made it clear that nothing would be changed back.
The next day, Sayasat Nurbek, the Head of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, announced that the Ministry of Health had requested a grant of 160 million tenge to study the impact of the time zone on Kazakhstanis.
