Major Illegal Migration Channel Dismantled in Shymkent

Police in Shymkent have dismantled a large illegal migration channel. Thirteen members of the group were detained, and the alleged organizer was placed in a temporary detention center, Orda.kz reports.
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs said the group had arranged the entry of foreign nationals into the country for money and helped legalise their stay.
Police carried out 28 searches, seizing dozens of foreign passports, office equipment, communication devices, blank forms and fictitious employment contracts. Officers also found large sums of cash and unregistered weapons.
The organizer of the group was placed in a temporary detention center. A criminal case was opened against all suspects under the article on organizing illegal migration.the police said.
