Lufthansa airlines will restore regular flights from Almaty and Astana to Frankfurt at the end of March, Orda.kz reports.
The airline will operate five flights a week to Almaty and four to Astana. Flights will run on a circular schedule, offering passengers the choice of direct flights or one-stop options involving an intermediate landing.
During intermediate landings in Astana, through passengers will remain on board. In Almaty, they will be directed to the transit area of the airport.
Flights will be operated with an Airbus A340-300, offering business, premium economy, and economy seats. All classes will include hot meals and drinks, individual screens, and FlyNet internet access.
According to the airline’s website, direct fares from Almaty to Frankfurt start at 242,000 tenge, while flights with an intermediate landing start at 157,000 tenge. Direct flights from Astana start at 324,000 tenge.
As previously reported, Lufthansa suspended flights to Kazakhstan from October 26, 2025, citing an aircraft shortage, delays in deliveries of new aircraft and spare parts, and a review of seasonal demand.
Later, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport linked the suspension to the need to bypass Russian airspace and the resulting increase in operating costs. The ministry also cited a seasonal drop in passenger traffic and delays in aircraft deliveries.
