The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection has stated that striking Kazakhmys company employees have violated labor laws, Orda.kz reports.
Recently, workers at Zhezkazgantsvetmet mines halted operations, demanding higher wages.
However, they are legally required to officially make demands to the employer and wait for them to be considered.
And only then should they turn to the conciliation commission in the absence of an agreement.
The department recalled that suspending production without observing these regulations is impermissible.
For such actions, employees face disciplinary liability.
The Ministry called on employees to return to work and resolve the dispute with the company's management within the law through conciliation procedures.
The strike began on December 17 at shaft No. 65 of the Yuzhno-Kazakhstansky mine when the third shift refused to go underground.
More than 250 workers of the TOO Kazakhmys — Zhezkazgantsvetmet branch went on strike.
