Kyrgyzstan: Tashiev Comments on Akylbek Japarov's Resignation

Kamchybek Tashiev commented on Akylbek Japarov's resignation, Orda reports, citing Kloop.
Japarov previously headed the Cabinet of Ministers and the presidential administration but was dismissed on December 16 due to "transferring to a new position."
Tashiev is the head of Kyrgyzstan's State Committee for National Security.
He highlighted that the President decides to dismiss someone from office.
Akylbek Usenbekovich is an experienced man. He has done many good things for the state. We do not discuss the president's decisions, Tashiev said.
Tashiev also answered whether Japarov's resignation was tied to schemes discovered in the State Tax Service:
He left because there was a connection to something. Not just like that. Tashiev said.
After the President dismissed Akylbek Japarov, Adylbek Kasymaliev was appointed acting chair of the government and presidential administration.
Akylbek Japarov has headed the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the presidential administration since October 2021.
On December 3, the Tax Service ordered importers and producers of alcoholic beverages to replace excise stamps issued in 2023 and earlier with new ones within three days.
The State Committee for National Security later searched the district offices of the State Tax Service. Four office heads and employees were questioned.
The State Committee said the detained heads are suspected of concealing violations in excisable good supply.
On December 5, Kamchybek Tashiev stated that tax officials had created a corruption scheme with the ETTN, the Tax Authority's information system.
Tashiev said the scheme cost the state budget 3.2 billion soms.
The State Committee also detained Altynbek Abduvaipov, head of the State Tax Service, and his deputy, Islambek Kydyrgychev.
They are suspected of involvement in "fraudulent activities" using ETTN.
