The son of former Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev has appealed to law enforcement, claiming he was illegally evicted from the family residence in Koi-Tash, Orda.kz reports.
Kadyrbek Atambayev said that on September 13, about 100 uniformed officers arrived without a court decision.
Even the eviction trial did not take place. The deputy minister of internal affairs was present on site, who forced us to leave the area on foot at night, not allowing us to wait for our relatives' car or even take our pet (cat). We were threatened and subjected to degrading remarks, including 'live in a container' Atambayev said.
He added that not only security forces were present — the head of the presidential administration, Kanybek Tumonbaev, also entered the residence, climbing over a neighbor’s fence and accompanied by security.
All this happened on a day off and without any documents, acts, etc. Our things were thrown out on the street, some of the household items were broken. Any decisions/actions of the judicial enforcment officer and the court proceedings on eviction can be appealed. We were deprived of even this right and the right to a court,he noted.
Atambayev Jr. listed the violations as illegal entry into a home, abuse of power, and arbitrary action. Authorities, meanwhile, say the residence will be demolished to build a nursing home and nursery.
The Atambayev family insists it is their only home and stresses the trial is still ongoing.
