Kyrgyzstan: Judicial Enforcers Move to Evict Atambayev Family From Koi-Tash Mansion

Judicial enforcement officers, accompanied by police, arrived at the mansion of former Kyrgyz president Almazbek Atambayev’s family in Koi-Tash, demanding that the house be vacated, Orda.kz reports.
The ex-president’s son, Kadyrbek Atambayev, said judicial enforcement officers are attempting to seize not only the residence but also the headquarters of the Social Democrats party and Media Forum.
He insisted that there is no court ruling authorizing such action.
About 30 people reportedly came to the mansion.
Background
The dispute traces back to the 2019 Koi-Tash events, after which the family’s property was sealed. Authorities previously said the mansion could be repurposed as a care facility for the elderly, while the Atambayevs argued it should become a children’s educational and sports complex.
Calling the eviction political pressure, Kadyr Atambayev posted on Facebook:
This is absolute lawlessness...Despite this, judicial enforcement officers, on orders from above, are proceeding with their illegal actions (...) Kill me here. You won’t let me go abroad even to see my father for treatment. Inside the country, you’re taking away my house.
He also stressed that the family lives “on the land of their ancestors,” with family burials located nearby.
In 2023, former President Almazbek Atambayev was released after serving part of an 11-year sentence handed down in 2019. He spent over three years in prison before being freed on humanitarian grounds, later traveling abroad for medical treatment.
