Kazatomprom shares are on the rise again following the national nuclear company’s announcement of 2024 dividend payments, Orda.kz reports, citing the Association of Financiers of Kazakhstan (AFK).
According to AFK analysts, the announcement has helped restore investor confidence in the company’s financial stability. The total payout to shareholders is expected to exceed 300 billion tenge.
Kazatomprom shares rose by 4.6% amid plans to pay a large amount of dividends for 2024. The company's board of directors recommended paying out 327.9 billion tenge in dividends for 2024, AFK emphasized.
This follows a challenging start to the year for the company. In the first quarter of 2025, Kazatomprom’s stock dropped 13.4% alongside falling uranium prices, which fell by 11.4% over the same period. The Kazakhstan Stock Exchange attributed the decline to broader global economic turbulence, while maintaining that Kazatomprom remains financially solid.
At the same time, Kazatomprom has notably scaled back its uranium exports since the beginning of the year, despite recently securing a deal to supply nuclear fuel to power plants in the Czech Republic.
