National company "Kazatomprom" announced that it would increase uranium production by at least seven percent in 2025, reports Orda.kz.
"Kazatomprom" plans to mine 25-26.5 thousand tons of uranium this year.
This is 7-14% more than in 2024, when the Kazakhstani national company produced about 23.3 thousand tons.
By the end of 2024, uranium production had increased by ten percent year-on-year.
The group's sales volume in 2025 is expected to be at the level of 17.5-18.5 thousand tons of uranium, including company sales volume expectations at the level of 14-15 thousand tons of uranium, states Kazatomprom's announcement.
The company emphasized that last year's uranium exports brought more profit than in 2023, as spot prices for the metal were higher.
Meanwhile, NAC expects production to decrease at most uranium mining enterprises in the country (within the allowable deviation of 20%).
Kazatomprom also confirmed that production has resumed at the Inkai deposit, where work was temporarily suspended at the beginning of the year. The company is currently assessing the impact of this short break on production plans.
Kazatomprom will provide more details about its plans in March when it analyzes its financial condition and performance results for the past year.
In November, NAC reported that its profit for the first three quarters of 2024 increased by 129%.
