Kazakhstan's President Meets Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister in Astana

Kazakhstan's President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev received Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov in Astana. The sides discussed friendship, cooperation, and new opportunities, reports Orda.kz.
According to Aqorda, Toqayev congratulated Turkmenistan on starting the International Year of Peace and Trust, which coincides with the country's 30th anniversary of neutrality, and assured that Kazakhstan is ready to support Ashgabat's peacekeeping initiatives.
The economic sphere is also developing positively: both countries actively develop trade, transport corridors, and energy sectors.
The Turkmen side confirmed its commitment to a long-term partnership with Kazakhstan and its intention to deepen cooperation.
Minister Meredov conveyed greetings to President Toqayev from Turkmen leader Serdar Berdimuhamedow and Halk Maslahaty Chair Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.
The parties discussed the implementation of previously reached agreements and further joint projects in energy, logistics, and culture.
The previous meeting between the countries was in October 2024 at the international forum "Connection of Times and Civilizations - the Basis of Peace and Development" in Ashgabat.
