Kazakhstan's Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev addressed the government's response to this situation, reports Orda.kz.
On February 17, 2025, a drone strike hit the Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), causing damage to infrastructure.
The attack disabled the gas turbine unit, transformers, and fire suppression system.
According to specialists, repairs will likely require approximately two months, potentially reducing Kazakhstan's oil transportation capacity by around 30%.
Initially, diplomatic channels were used for discussions with Ukrainian officials.
Russia has taken financial responsibility for repairing the damage.
There are no risks of a reduction in tanker loading volumes yet. Technical solutions have been taken to pass this station in transit mode. The risks are minimal now, Satkaliyev said at a briefing in Astana.
Kazakhstan's national oil company "KazMunayGas" has offered assistance in restoring normal operations at the CPC, though no formal requests for help have been received.
The pipeline's operational stability is supported by substantial storage facilities capable of holding approximately one million tons of oil.
Both receipt and shipment of Kazakhstan's oil continue without disruption.
