A court in Temirtau sentenced a local resident to 10 days of administrative detention over an obscene comment on Telegram, Orda.kz reports.
According to the case materials, police officers monitoring social media found the comment in the BASE Telegram channel on July 2, 2026. The Temirtau resident had posted it under a publication containing a response from Kazakhstan’s Prosecutor General’s Office. The publication concerned the investigation into the case of Kazakh journalist Aidos Sadykov, who died in a Kyiv hospital in 2024.
The man was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 434 of Kazakhstan’s Code of Administrative Offences. The provision carries a fine of 20 monthly calculation indices, equivalent to 86,500 tenge, between 20 and 60 hours of community service, or between five and 15 days of administrative detention.
The court sentenced him to 10 days of administrative detention. The ruling has not yet entered into force.
