Kazakhstani Citizens May Be Detained After Mass Brawl at Facility in Russia

Social networks are distributing videos of a mass brawl in Russia in which, according to the authors, citizens of Kazakhstan may have participated. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has commented on the incident, Orda.kz reports.
The published footage captures a group clash involving dozens of people. According to users, the events took place at a facility associated with the Russian construction company "Velesstroy." At the same time, another video showing a similar situation, but filmed during the day, is being circulated online.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in St. Petersburg is verifying information about the incident that occurred on March 26, 2026, in the village of Ust‑Luga.
According to preliminary data, the participants in the conflict were detained by Russian law enforcement officers to determine the circumstances. The Kazakh side has sent official requests to the relevant Russian authorities, as well as to the company.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that diplomats are in contact with the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region. The exact number of Kazakhstani citizens who may have been involved in the conflict, as well as their legal status, is currently being clarified.
