The government of Kazakhstan has released a full list of projects that will be funded by assets seized from oligarchs, totaling 318 billion tenge, Orda.kz reports.
“In total, 406 projects have been approved for funding. Of these, 333 are already underway, including nine education facilities, three sports complexes, 162 healthcare projects, and 159 water supply initiatives,” the government stated.
Medical centers are being built as part of the "Modernization of Rural Healthcare" program, aiming to bring medical services to residents of remote villages. The construction of water infrastructure using recovered funds supports a national goal: to provide all cities and rural areas with clean drinking water by the end of 2025.
In Astana, funds are being used to build a new 3,600-seat stadium named after Munaitpasov. In Almaty, nine water supply projects are being implemented. In Shymkent, a dormitory is under construction for students of the Sairam auxiliary boarding school.
The regions leading in the number of projects funded with returned assets include Qaraganda (62), North Kazakhstan (49), Aqmola (40), Turkistan (36), Almaty (29), and West Kazakhstan and Qostanay (25 each). Most involve upgrading water systems and building medical facilities in rural areas.
Earlier, it was reported that the first healthcare facility funded with recovered assets — a medical clinic in the village of Arnasay — had officially opened.
