Kazakhstan to Revise Unified National Test with ETS Experts

The Unified National Test (UNT) in Kazakhstan will undergo a major revision with the involvement of specialists from the international testing company Educational Testing Service (ETS), Orda.kz reports.
Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek announced the reform while commenting on the results of President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev’s visit to New York.
According to the minister, two key meetings took place during the trip. The first was at the Smithsonian Institution, one of the oldest scientific research centers in the United States.
As part of the Bolashaq program, Kazakh scientists — including anthropologists, cultural experts, and historians — will now have the opportunity to study there.
The second meeting was with ETS leadership.
A special working group will be created with the participation of the best ETS specialists. They will undertake a comprehensive revision of the methodology and content of our UNT,Nurbek stated.
He emphasized that world-class experts will oversee a multi-stage process aimed at transforming the UNT into an international-standard exam with modern methodology and high-quality questions.
